Common Dental Emergencies
If the tooth has really broken down or has other issues, fractured and such, it may be that it needs the full cover of a cap or a crown. That works very well for our patients that have lost most of the tooth structure. At the same time too, that we're able to save the tooth. In our office, when it becomes an onlay or a crown, we do not need to send the case out to our laboratory to fabricate and then wait two weeks for it to come back. We make it in our office, polish it. You're still numb. We cement it and you're actually going home probably having lunch or dinner on that same side after the dental procedure. It's an excellent procedure.
Dental emergencies come in different forms, but here are a few we’ve helped many people through in Mt. Laurel.
- Toothache – Does it hurt to eat? Are you losing sleep or can’t focus because your pain is so bad? Don’t wait around for it to get better. Let the restorative dental team at Friendly Smiles Center find the source of your pain. Often, a toothache indicates tooth decay or an abscess. We can help get you back to normal with a tooth filling, dental crown, or a safe root canal treatment.
- Broken Tooth – A broken tooth can be painful and dangerous. Get in to see Dr. Chase for a same-day dental crown to fix your broken tooth. In more severe cases, you might need to have the tooth removed, but we can gently extract the tooth using dental sedation and replace it with a dental implant to give you a full, healthy smile.
- Knocked-Out Tooth – The longer a tooth is out of your mouth, the harder it is for us to place it back in. Don’t delay – get to our Mount Laurel dental office as fast as you safely can. Be sure to bring the tooth with you. Dr. Chase will work hard to place it back inside your mouth.
