One of the procedures that we offer in our office is air abrasion and that's a technique, basically, of a little, tiny sand blaster that's very conservative in that if we have a really small cavity or a groove in a tooth that is just starting to become a cavity we do not necessarily have to take a drill and drill a channel to remove that area. Minimal preparation is all that's needed and so our air abrasion helps us to clean out that area and decay. And then we can place our composite or our bonded white filming and it works excellent. We use the same, similar procedure for when were placing sealants and as things get larger and covers more tooth structure, we do very similar procedures for that to bring the patients back to optimum health.

Know What to Expect
Whether you are a new patient or you’ve been coming to us for decades, we want you to have a good experience during your visit. Your comfort is a top priority for us because we want you to keep coming back. After all, you deserve to have the best smile that you can!
If this is your first appointment, we’ll use our intraoral cameras to look for any signs of tooth decay, gum disease, and oral cancer. When oral cancers are found in the early stages, the survival rate is 80 to 90 percent. We never want anyone to have this disease, but we would much rather find it as soon as possible if you do.
You can expect a thorough cleaning to remove any plaque and tartar buildup on and between your teeth. You’ll get a polish so your teeth can look nicer as well. After some digital X-rays (if needed), you can get a fluoride treatment to make your teeth stronger and more resistant to decay.
Before you leave, Dr. Robert Chase will examine your mouth. He will double-check for any problems. If there is an issue that needs to be addressed, he can answer your questions and explain your options. We want you to make an educated decision about your treatment.
