You want a beautiful, straight smile for yourself and for the members of your family. As you know, a nice smile can make a difference in your daily life. We want to help you enjoy those benefits with orthodontics and Invisalign® at our Mount Laurel, NJ dental office.
Dr. Chase Discusses Orthodontics
So for the last 20 years I've been offering conventional orthodontics. That would be placing the little brackets on the teeth with an arch wire. For some of our patients, that is the treatment of choice for them in that they don't have to worry about taking something in and out of their mouth, it's always doing its job moving the teeth in the direction they want. The other option that we have in our office is Invisalign. This allows us to move the teeth while using a series of clear trays that are changed over about every two weeks. This allows for us to move the teeth in about the same amount of time. A lot of professionals, teachers and such, who want to have the straightening but don't want to have what they might think is a teenage appearance of their braces, have benefited with those. I might add that one of the nice things with the Invisalign is that we're actually able to move individual teeth, and not the whole series. We're also able to move very minor movement too, in that if you just have a tooth or two or these two are crowded, we can work with those. Not where we have to do the full braces and such. And those individual cases are actually finished in less than six months, and patients really enjoy that. So if you're interested in having your teeth straightened, come and see us.
Adults and teenagers alike have enjoyed many benefits as a result of completing orthodontic care:
- A more attractive smile
- A healthier, easier-to-clean mouth
- Greater self-confidence

Create Your New Smile With Orthodontics Options
As a member of the American Dental Association and Academy of General Dentistry for over 25 years, Dr. Chase has completed hundreds of hours of training in both metal braces and Invisalign to ensure you get the straight smile you deserve. Whether you are a teenager, an adult just starting your career, a parent, or even a retiree, you can straighten your teeth. With either of our services, you can look forward to seeing your smile transformed.
Many people focus on the cosmetic benefits of a straight smile, which is perfectly understandable. After all, everyone would like to have nice teeth. At the same time, you shouldn’t overlook the health benefits as well.
You may not be able to brush and floss as well as you should when your teeth are crooked or if you have bite issues (such as an overbite or underbite). Plaque and tartar can build in the places where a toothbrush or dental floss can’t reach. This raises your risk of tooth decay and gum disease. With straight teeth, it’s easier to get rid of cavity-causing bacteria and food particles before problems develop.
If you want to change the alignment of your smile, we offer traditional braces and Invisalign. Both options can fix overbites and underbites and correct crooked and crowded teeth. If you have gaps between your teeth, orthodontic care can help you close those, too.
Take the Clear Path With Invisalign for Adults & Teens
Braces are a time-tested technology that uses a series of brackets and wires to gradually move your teeth. Braces can fix even severe alignment issues, although the technology in modern braces makes them more effective than they have ever been.
Doctor Robert Chase on Invisalign
It's been nice. Technology that's become available on the last 20 years is utilizing aligners to move teeth instead of the conventional wire and brackets. Patients, they may be in either a professional career, or that they're just in front of the public eye, that to go with conventional braces just probably wouldn't work for them. The clear aligners actually allow you to continue talking and speaking. They're basically invisible, and we can actually take those out to eat as well as to brush the teeth, so we get really good home care that way. We're able to, with Invisalign, to move individual teeth, whereas in even conventional braces, it's a little bit more difficult to do that, so it does have some of these advantages.
In some cases, we'll find that it may be still in the best interest for a patient to have the conventional wire-and-bracket orthodontics. Most we're finding that with the option of the Invisalign, patients feel more comfortable going out in public, especially as an adult. Our teenage kids, we're finding that they may go either way, conventional or teen Invisalign. But as for adults, we find a majority are looking at the Invisalign and getting very good results.
Yet many patients may feel self-conscious about wearing braces. For them, Invisalign is a great alternative. Invisalign replaces the brackets and wires with plastic aligners. These “invisible braces” are a great way to improve your oral health and build confidence in your smile. Other benefits include:
- No sharp metal or hard edges to irritate the inside of your mouth
- Removable for eating and for cleaning your teeth
- Realigning your smile in as little as 9 to 12 months
